EmergeOrtho – Coastal Region offers 18 full-service orthopedic medical offices, 17 physical therapy locations (hand therapy available in select locations), and 8 orthopedic-specialized urgent care offices throughout the following southeastern North Carolina and South Carolina counties: Brunswick, Carteret, Craven, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender and Horry. Most locations offer advanced MRI diagnostics, physical and occupational therapies, and same-day appointments.
An experienced shoulder and elbow surgeon, Dr. Glener joined EmergeOrtho – Coastal Region in August of 2026. She is board-certified in upper extremity, with a special emphasis in primary and revision shoulder joint replacement.
Michael Patetta, MD is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon who joined EmergeOrtho – Coastal Region in 2026. Dr. Patetta specializes in the comprehensive treatment of disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. His approach incorporates motion-preserving procedures, endoscopic surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery and complex reconstructive techniques when appropriate for the patient's condition.
EmergeOrtho serves as the sports medicine team physicians for UNCW Athletics, the Wilmington Sharks, Cape Fear Community College and many of our area high school athletes. Most recently, EmergeOrtho provided coverage for the top athletes at the 2024 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships.
