As the regional leader in orthopedic care, EmergeOrtho recognizes that many patients face the challenge of coping with chronic pain. Our anesthesiology services focus on the safest, most effective techniques to provide maximal relief.
How do physicians at EmergeOrtho treat chronic pain?
EmergeOrtho’s team includes anesthesia-based physicians who specialize in interventional pain relief. These anesthesiologists have the expertise to relieve many types of pain, including pain due to injuries, spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis, damaged nerves, cartilage deterioration and various conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis.
What methods of pain relief are offered?
We tailor our treatments to meet the needs of each individual patient. Among the types of pain relief we offer:
- Monitored anesthesia or IV sedation:
This method includes minimal sedation (meaning you will be able to speak during the procedure) and deep sedation (meaning you will not remember the procedure).
- Regional anesthesia:
This type of anesthesia involves administering pain medication to numb a large part of your body. Examples include spinal blocks and epidurals.
- Local anesthesia:
A local anesthetic only numbs the small area where the procedure is being performed. During the procedure, you will be alert, but without pain.
