Dr. Michael Marushack practices at the Shallotte and Brunswick Forest Cutlar Crossing offices of EmergeOrtho. Dr. Marushack is a graduate of the University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt lake City, UT. During his orthopedic residency, he spent two years doing research on bone metabolism and authored several basic science publications. After completion of his orthopedic residency at the Washington University School of Medicine, he finished a sports medicine fellowship in Birmingham, Alabama, specializing in the treatment of knees, shoulders and joint replacements. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the North Carolina Medical Society.

Dr. Marushack has a broad range of experience including sports medicine, treatment of knees and shoulders including joint replacement, and arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the elbow. He is certified in robotic total knee replacement surgery utilizing the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery, as well as the ROSA Knee System.

Dr. Marushack is affiliated and performs inpatient and outpatient orthopedic surgery at Dosher Memorial Hospital and Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. He is an owner in the Brunswick Surgery Center, LLC where he performs outpatient orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Marushack has served as chairman of the Surgical Committee and Chief of Medical Staff at Dosher Hospital. He also served as Vice President of the Brunswick County Medical Society. Currently, he serves as a Board Member of Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. He also serves as team physician for West Brunswick High School, Brunswick Community College, and the Wilmington SeaDawgs.

Physicians who are Mako and/or ROSA certified are credentialed and able to perform surgery at any of the regional facilities that have these robotic-assisted surgery systems, including but not limited to: Brunswick Surgery Center in Leland, NC; Novant Health (formerly New Hanover Regional Medical Center) in Wilmington, NC; and Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport, NC.
