Dr. Lawrence A. Montalto practices in Shallotte at 5160 Ocean Highway West.  Dr. Montalto completed his fellowship in multidisciplinary pain at the University of Florida Medical Center, and his anesthesiology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Montalto is fellowship trained in Pain Medicine and board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is certified in DRG (Dorsal Root Ganglion) stimulation, and has had specialty training in spinal cord stimulation with all major companies. He is also certified in Botox for Chronic Migraine, Head and Neck and Craniofacial injections.

In 2018, Dr. Montalto volunteered as a staff physician in Kijabe, Kenya and was responsible for Ethiopian resident training, Kenyan nurse anesthetist education and specialty cases. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, downhill skiing, and hiking with his wife and two dogs.
