Dr. Varun Goswami is an interventional pain physician who is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and fellowship-trained in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine. He now serves as a physician for the EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region on the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Interventional Pain Management teams.

He specializes in nonsurgical orthopedic and spine treatments, including image-guided spine and joint injections utilizing fluoroscopy and ultrasound, electrodiagnostic testing, and minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. Goswami is an interventional physiatrist dedicated to providing patient-centered care focused on improving overall function and quality of life, collaborating with his patients to develop an individualized treatment plan.

Education and Expertise

Dr. Goswami was born and raised in North Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree at North Carolina State University in Biological Sciences. He then went on to pursue his medical degree at Xavier University School of Medicine in Aruba.

He completed his residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, and served as chief resident in his final year. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC.

Dr. Goswami enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two young boys. He loves to live an active lifestyle by playing tennis, pickleball, racquetball, basketball, and working out. He also enjoys watching college basketball and is an avid NC State Wolfpack fan.
