Mark D. Foster, MD

Dr. Mark Foster practices in Wilmington at 2716 Ashton Drive and 1168 East Cutlar Crossing in Brunswick Forest in Leland. Dr. Foster is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After medical school, he remained at the Medical University for his orthopedic surgery residency. He is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He received his Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and his Fellowship in Spine Surgery at the North Carolina Spine Center in Chapel Hill.

In addition to general orthopedics, Dr. Foster’s spine care practice specializes in herniated lumbar discs, osteoporotic compression fractures, lumbar spinal stenosis or lumbar spondylolisthesis, and herniated lumbar discs. Procedures included in his scope of practice include spine fusion, microdiscectomy, decompressive laminectomy, minimal incision spine surgery, fractures and kyphoplasty among others.

Dr. Foster’s foot and ankle practice lends itself to the care of degenerative, traumatic, and congenital conditions of the foot and ankle, arthritis/post traumatic injury deformity, fractures of the foot and ankle. This includes bunions, tendonitis, neuromas and hammertoes as well.

Dr. Foster is a member of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society.

Dr. Foster is affiliated with Dosher Memorial Hospital, Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center and Novant Health where he performs inpatient and outpatient surgery. He is an owner of the Brunswick Surgery Center, LLC where he performs outpatient surgery.
