Kristen Shipley, PT, DPT, Cert. MDT, TPS, CMTPT/DN

Kristen Shipley is a physical therapist who primarily cares for patients suffering from orthopedic injuries. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Tennessee State University. She originally joined our team in 2011. While practicing elsewhere Kristen became credentialed by the McKenzie Institute in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT). She specialized in treating neck and back patients for the first 7 years of her career.

Kristen moved to Washington State in 2013 where she practiced in outpatient orthopedics and developed a direct referral program for acute low back pain and neck pain patients from the emergency department. This allowed for quick access and quality care for patients experiencing acute pain. During this time, she realized the need for understanding and treating pain and enrolled to the International Pain and Spine Institute and received her certification in Therapeutic Pain Science (TPS).

She rejoined EmergeOrtho Triad Region in 2019. Her goal as a physical therapist is to provide quality care by making an individualized plan of care that matches her patient’s needs. Patient education is a very important part of her practice and believes that building a patient’s knowledge helps prevent future injury and delivers the best patient care with good outcomes.
