Karla graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. She later attended Caldwell Community College, beginning her career in outpatient therapy. Karla has work experience in laboratory, assisted living facility, and home health settings.
When she is not working, Karla enjoys reading, working in flower beds, baking for family and coworkers, and walking and hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway. She is married with two grown children.
