As the premier orthopedics urgent care center in the region, EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region expects the unexpected. Besides causing alarm, unexpected accidents can cause pain and injuries, not to mention stress. But, for our team of highly-experienced subspeciality orthopedic doctors, tending to unforeseeable sprains, strains, fractures, and more, is what we do best. We are committed to providing local patients high-quality, easily-accessible, patient-centered urgent care services.

We offer several conveniently located, walk-in locations. Each urgent care practice is staffed with expert orthopedic specialists who routinely provide precision diagnosis and treatment for a variety of injuries and conditions.

What We Treat at Our Orthopedic Urgent Cares

Rather than waiting in a crowded emergency room, many Triangle Area residents can be seen at one of our urgent care centers. Examples of conditions and injuries we address include:

  • Sprains, Strains, and Contusions
These soft-tissue injuries can affect any muscle, tendon, or ligament in the body. Sprains occur as the result of a stretch or tear of a ligament (the strong band of connective tissue that connects one end of a bone to another).
Strains are a stretch or tear to a muscle or tendon. Tendons are fibrous cords of tissue that attach muscles to bones. Contusions (bruises) are crushed/damaged muscle fibers and connective tissues beneath unbroken skin.
  • Cuts, Abrasions, and Lacerations
Cuts refer to a surface-level skin wound where the connective tissue is separated, but not missing. Abrasions are wounds caused by scraping and friction, where a layer (or layers) of skin is removed. Lacerations refer to torn and jagged wounds.
  • Cast or Wound Dressing Changes/Problems
If your cast, bandages, or gauze become dirty, broken, or defective in any way, our team will change it out for a new dressing.
  • Closed Fractures
This is when a bone is broken but is not protruding from the skin.
  • Tendinitis and Bursitis
Tendinitis is the inflammation of the tendon or tendon covering (sheath). Bursitis is inflammation of the bursae, which are small, jelly-like sacs located throughout the body that act as cushions by reducing friction.
  • Job or Work-Related Injuries
If you experienced an orthopedic injury on the job (or at work), visit an orthopedic urgent care near you.
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents
Motor vehicle accidents unless symptoms include head injury/trauma, headache, or loss of consciousness.

What Orthopedic Urgent Care Cannot Treat

Severe and serious conditions require hospital-level medical attention and cannot be treated at our EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region Orthopedic Urgent Care centers. Examples of injuries and scenarios that we do not address include:

  • Head and Facial Trauma Including Concussions
Injuries of the jaw, cheek, nose, eye socket, forehead, skull, or brain need to be addressed at an emergency room/hospital.
  • Open Fractures
An open or “compound fracture,” refers to a broken bone that protrudes out of the skin.
  • Partial or Full Amputations
A hospital is the only place equipped to handle partial or full amputations.
  • Chest Injuries
Any injuries to the chest wall or organs inside of the chest (including the lungs and heart) need to be seen at an emergency room/hospital.
