Sean Childress is a NCCPA board certified Physician Assistant. He joined our EmergeOrtho team in 2021. Specializing in the orthopedic care of the both the hip & knee joints, Sean works under the direction of Frank Aluisio, MD in our Greensboro office. Sean provides comprehensive in-office services and assists Dr. Aluisio in the operating room.

“The decision to become an Orthopedic Physician Assistant stems from a lifelong interest in orthopedic medicine, having experienced multiple sports-related orthopedic injuries,” says Sean. Working as a physical therapy technician prior to his acceptance into PA school, Sean gained insight on the importance of skilled intervention provided by physical therapists. The knowledge gained from the physical therapy perspective helps Sean to provide patients with realistic expectations for their postoperative rehabilitation progression.

Originally from Texas, Sean spent 10 years working as both a High School Educator, Football Coach, and Baseball Coach before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. Both his experience as a coach as well as a former collegiate athlete serve as his foundation for a strong belief in the team approach — which he believes when appropriately used in medicine, produces the best outcomes for patients.

Outside the operating room and clinic, Sean enjoys spending time with his family, being active, and rooting for his favorite teams.
