Dr. Scott M. Lewis is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in disorders of the back, neck, spine, and sacroiliac joint. Dr. Lewis has in-depth training in minimally invasive and motion-preserving spine surgery (cervical artificial disc replacements/arthroplasty, cervical laminoplasty) as well as sacroiliac conditions. As part of the EmergeOrtho-Triangle Region Back, Neck & Spine team, Dr. Lewis routinely provides patients with innovative, multidisciplinary treatment approaches.

Education and Expertise
Dr. Lewis is originally from Brevard, NC. He completed his undergraduate, medical, and orthopedic surgery training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – a true Tar Heel. During residency, he evaluated, diagnosed, and treated adult spinal disorders under a few of the area’s best spine surgeons. After residency, he went on to the University of Maryland Spine Surgery Fellowship to train under Dr. Steven Ludwig, a world-renowned spine surgeon.
