Dr. Scott M. Lewis is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in conditions of the back, neck, spine, and sacroiliac joint. A native of Brevard, NC, Dr. Lewis completed his undergraduate studies, medical education, and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, making him a proud Tar Heel.

During his residency, he gained valuable experience diagnosing and treating adult spinal disorders under the mentorship of some of the region’s top spine surgeons. Following residency, Dr. Lewis pursued advanced training at the University of Maryland Spine Surgery Fellowship, working with world-renowned spine surgeon Dr. Steven Ludwig.

Dr. Lewis has a particular interest in minimally invasive and motion-preserving spine surgeries, such as cervical artificial disc replacement, arthroplasty, and cervical laminoplasty, as well as addressing sacroiliac joint issues. His guiding philosophy is simple: to treat each patient as he would his own family.
