Dr. Buckel is a graduate of Indiana University. He earned his medical degree at Nova SE University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002. He performed his orthopedic surgery training in Philadelphia, PA, and then completed additional fellowship training in shoulder surgery at St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute in Columbus, GA. Dr. Buckel worked for Duke/PDC for nearly 9 years. He recently joined Emerge Ortho Triangle Region in 2019.
Dr. Buckel is a fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has been practicing since 2008.
Dr. Buckel treats a broad range of orthopedic conditions, with particular interest and expertise in shoulder replacement surgery and arthroscopic treatment of bone and joint diseases in the knee and shoulder. He also performs general orthopedic surgery for problems such a fracture, carpal/cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and a host of additional orthopedics conditions. Dr. Buckel also focuses favorably on non-operative orthopedic treatment whenever possible.
