Dr. Ruben Torrez is a sports medicine physician with fellowship training in primary care sports medicine. As a sports doctor, he has provided medical care for all types of athletes from cross country runners to rodeo cowboys and NCAA Division I student-athletes. Dr. Torrez is accepting new patients at EmergeOrtho to help you recover from musculoskeletal injuries including muscle strains, tendon pain, and joint concerns. He chose to specialize in orthopedic medicine as “Orthopedic injuries were my favorite to take care of in the emergency room during my residency” says Dr. Torrez. His sports medicine fellowship gave him the expertise to guide patients toward recovery and lasting wellness.
Just as Dr. Torrez was motivated to achieve his educational goals, he is driven to collaborate with patients on reaching their own orthopedic goals. “Building connections with patients, being able to educate and share insights, and aiding in their recovery” is what Dr. Torrez says truly inspires him. He hopes his patients feel heard and understood, working together as a team with a common goal.
