Rian graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Spanish. He worked as a medical assistant in a local family practice before joining EmergeOrtho, first as a medical assistant, then as clinic team lead helping manage the overall patient experience. He also volunteered his time and skills at St. Mary’s Health Clinic, where he assisted in hypertension and diabetes care, as well as providing translation and education services for patients.
After earning his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Marist University in New York, he returned to EmergeOrtho in 2025 as part of the back, neck & spine team led by Todd Rose, MD.
An enthusiastic leader with a heart for serving others, Rian has volunteered with numerous nonprofit agencies and clinics in all the places he has lived. He also excelled in athletics while at UNCW, including as a member and captain of the men’s track and field team.
