A family nurse practitioner in the Wilmington area since 2013, Rachel Almond joined EmergeOrtho in March of 2025. She is part of the coastal region’s interventional pain management team, working with Lawrence Montalto, DO.
Rachel earned both her Bachelor of Science and her Master of Science in Nursing, both at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She later completed the EPIC Physician Builder program through EPIC University, as well as the Nursing Education Educator Development and Post Master’s Educator Certificate, both at East Carolina University.
Her extensive FNP experience includes working with inpatients, primarily in children’s health and mental health through UNC/ Novant NHRMC. Prior to becoming a certified FNP, Rachel was an RN for nine years, caring for patients in the following specialties: NICU, family practice, women’s health and pediatrics.
