Phil Caraher, DPT, MS, OCS, CSCS, CES

Phil Caraher graduated from New York University with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in August, 2001 and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist. Phil’s area of interest are ACL return to sport training and testing and shoulder rehabilitation including post-operative rehabilitation of the overhead athlete. Prior to starting at NYU, Phil earned his MS in Biomechanics from Penn State University in the Sports Medicine Department.

Phil has presented on Anterior Cruciate Ligament injuries including mechanism of injury, return to sport training and ACL performance testing multiple times at the North Carolina American Physical Therapy Association annual conference as well as at Duke Sports Medicine Grand Rounds where he was employed in the Sports Medicine Department prior to coming to EmergeOrtho.

As an athlete in track and field at Penn State, Phil earned All-American honors four times and competed at the US Olympic Trials. As a masters athlete in track and field, Phil has ranked number one in the US 8 times and number one in the world 3 times. Phil is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the NSCA, a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the NASM.
