Blue Ridge Region

South Asheville

Since 1999, Dr. Mangone has been in private practice with EmergeOrtho, Blue Ridge Region in Asheville and Hendersonville, NC. He is the co-director of the EmergeOrtho, Blue Ridge Region Foot and Ankle Center, with the largest number and highest quality fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle specialists in the western North Carolina region. The Foot and Ankle Center provides the most region’s most technologically advanced techniques for the surgical treatment of foot and ankle disorders.

Dr. Mangone aims to provide an individualized patient-centered approach to foot and ankle care. First and foremost, the patient’s history, their “story”, is the most significant aspect of every patient visit. He is a firm believer that the patient knows their own body best and by carefully listening to each patient’s history, the correct diagnosis is better identified. Once a diagnosis has been established, individualized treatment options can be discussed in a shared decision-making model allowing the patient to be at the center of the decision-making process. This includes both non-operative and operative options for each patient. Dr. Mangone gives each patient an opportunity to be involved in their health care decision making as much as he/she desires. By participating in research and innovation as well as speaking at medical conferences around the globe, Dr. Mangone tries to stay current with the latest diagnosis and treatment methods to bring my patients the best care possible.

In his spare time, enjoys golf and travel as well as spending time with his wife visiting their three adult children. He has additional interests in sports, history and political science.
