Education and Expertise

Dr. Heineman brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our practice. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Economics from the University of Oklahoma before completing his medical education at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. As chief resident during his orthopedic surgery residency, he earned the Vert Mooney Award for outstanding academic performance, along with the prestigious Martin Allgower AO Travelling Fellowship to Switzerland, awarded for excellence in clinical research and patient care.

Enhancing his specialization, Dr. Heineman completed a dedicated fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Michigan, where he focused on management of conditions including complex trauma, arthritis, carpal tunnel surgery, and trigger finger treatment. He has published 16 peer­ reviewed articles and has contributed to the academic community by chairing workshops and securing grants for innovative biomechanical research. As a candidate member of the American Association for Hand Surgery and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Dr. Heineman is recognized as a leader in the field of hand surgery.
