Kyle E. Nappo, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. He has broad experience working with active patients thanks to an 11-year career as a Naval orthopedic surgeon and as the liaison surgeon for the Marine Special Operations Command.
Education and Expertise
Dr. Nappo is a native of southwest Michigan where he attended Western Michigan University and Lee Honors College. He was awarded the Medallion Full Tuition Scholarship and completed his Bachelor of Science as a summa cum laude graduate.
Following undergraduate education, Dr. Nappo attended Wayne State University School of Medicine where he graduated with High Honors and was presented the Dr. Elvis & Nellie Alford Award, given to a sole graduating student based on academic excellence.
He completed his orthopedic surgery residency in 2019 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center earning the Norman T. Kirk Award for the most outstanding graduating resident.
Dr. Nappo has spent the past five years stationed at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune caring for active-duty service members, their families, and military retirees. During this time, he was the site investigator for a multicenter trial investigating the optimal treatment for shoulder instability.
As a specialist in orthopedic sports medicine, Dr. Nappo treats a wide variety of conditions and injuries. He has special expertise in and most commonly performs procedures to treat:

During his education and career, Dr. Nappo has taken on leadership roles, won several awards, published research, and participated in volunteer opportunities. Outside of work, Dr. Nappo enjoys being active and staying fit. His interests include hiking, camping, biking, golfing, triathlons, and most outdoor activities.
