Katie was born in Ohio but moved to NC when she was young. She attended Elon University where she studied athletic training and then obtained her Master’s in Kinesiology at Michigan State University. She was an athletic trainer for a small college before attending PA school. She received her Masters in Physician Assistant Practice from Campbell University. Before joining the EmergeOrtho team, she worked as a PA in orthopaedic surgery at Duke University for 6 years.
Katie is certified by the NCCPA and licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board.
In her spare time, she spends time with her husband and dogs, cheering on her Ohio State Buckeyes, and baking.
Katie works at the Durham and Southpoint locations primarily assisting Dr. Rutherford.
