Joseph Ellender graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in biology, and earned a Master of Medical Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Prior to joining EmergeOrtho, Joseph gained extensive experience in urgent care and family medicine, covering a range of medical specialties.

Joe is actively involved in evaluating and treating patients of all ages for their orthopedic needs both operatively and non-operatively, specializing in the area of sports medicine as a member of Dr. John O’Malley’s team. He also assists in providing care to the athletic teams of UNCW.
