After graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, John began his career at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (now Novant Health) in Wilmington, NC. After four years, he moved to the Triangle, working in turn at UNC-Rex Hospital in Raleigh and Duke University Health System.
After going back to school at Eastern Virginia Medical School to earn his Master of Physician Assistant, John returned to Duke University Health System for several years before joining EmergeOrtho – Coastal Region in March 2026 as part of the foot and ankle team under the direction of Matthew Braswell, MD.
