Dr. James C. Karegeannes [Care-ah-gene-us] graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina. In addition to being named a National Merit Scholar, he was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He completed both his medical degree and residency at Duke University. Dr. Karegeannes also completed an internship at the San Diego Naval Hospital and an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY.
He not only specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery, but he also conducts revision surgery for failed replacements, performing more than 450 joint replacements a year. He was named one of the “Top Doctors” for Hip and Knee Arthroplasty, Money magazine, Special Report, “The Best Health Care in America”, in fall 2003.
