George W. Floyd, PT, MHS, DPT

George earned his bachelor’s degree in music with a concentration in vocal performance from Furman University. In 1995, he graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a degree in physical therapy and a master’s in health sciences.

In 1998, George became the first off-clinic physical therapist from Thoms Rehabilitation Hospital (now CarePartners) in the setting that later evolved into Blue Ridge Bone and Joint Physical Therapy in 2000. During that time, he served as the team therapist for the Asheville Smoke hockey team.

In 2001, George was among the first physical therapists in the South to earn certification in Active Release Techniques (ART), including full-body (spine, upper and lower extremities), Masters level, biomechanics, and nerve entrapment. He continued his education and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009 from the Medical University of South Carolina.

George has additional training in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SMFA) Levels I and II, Titleist Performance Institute golf certification, dry needling, and numerous advanced orthopedic courses.
He was voted “Best Physical Therapist” in the inaugural Best of Blue Ridge Awards in 2018 (Times-News of Hendersonville).

Today, George serves as Site Manager at the EmergeOrtho Hendersonville office.
Outside of work, George enjoys golfing, running, and singing. He lives in Hendersonville with his wife and two children.
