Emily began her career in the medical field in 2008 when she obtained her CNA while working to complete her high school diploma at Tuscola High School. Following graduation, she gained experience in a skilled nursing home and inpatient at Mission Hospital. Emily quickly became more interested in the study of movement and human anatomy. Emily transitioned this found passion into a career when she enrolled at South College to complete a degree in Physical Therapy Assistant. While studying at South College she transitioned to working as a Rehabilitation Technician at Asheville Specialty Hospital, adding Long Term Acute Care, Outpatient Care, and Home Health to her resume of experience. She completed her Associates in Physical Therapy Assistant in 2017 and has completed several continuing education courses focused in neurological disorders, manual therapy, FMT-Basic/Advanced taping, and orthopedic injuries. Emily believes engaging with her patients and focusing on functional mobility. She believes small steps make big progress over time and that pushing through the hard will get you to your goals. She will take each step with you and cheer you on.
When Emily isn’t at work she enjoys being outdoors camping, hiking, or sitting on the porch with her family (including her two fur kids). She’s originally from Clyde and loves spending time on backroads exploring the mountains she calls home. Family time is the best when everyone gets together singing and playing music together according to Emily. She also has a passion for working on her Jeep when she gets time. She knows a little about a lot of things so spark a conversation about anything!
