Debbie is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro, where she played varsity women’s softball and served as a student athletic trainer while earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Debbie next attended James Madison University where she earned her Masters in Physical Education with a concentration in higher education and athletic administration, and worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.
Debbie moved to Wilmington in 1986 to work as an athletic trainer and lecturer at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In 1994, she became Coordinator of Sports Medicine at Cape Fear Sports Medicine, where she developed the practice’s sports medicine services and community outreach program.
She completed her degree in Physician Assistant Studies at East Carolina University in 2005.
Debbie works with Dale Boyd, M.D., on general orthopedics and sports medicine cases, evaluating, diagnosing and treating patients for a range of injuries and conditions, including fractures, arthroscopic procedures, partial knee replacements and orthopedic trauma.
