Education and Expertise
Dr. Dellaero is a graduate of Duke University. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and completed his orthopedic surgery training at Duke University Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Dellaero has undergone additional fellowship training and research in sports medicine/arthroscopy as well as knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery at the world-renowned Hughston Sports Medicine Foundation. He holds a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine* (fewer than 600 surgeons in the country have a sports medicine CAQ).
Dr. Dellaero is also a team physician for the Durham Bulls Baseball Team. He is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has been practicing since 1997.
