Dr. Marks earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in 1995. He went on to complete his residency in psychiatry at the University of California at San Diego from 1995-1998 and was senior resident in Psychiatry at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Clinical Neuroscience Research Unit from 1998-1999. Dr. Marks attended fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, University of California at San Diego from 1999-2000.
Dr. Marks studied Pain Medicine at Duke University Medical Center in 2008 and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Family Medicine. He has extensive experience in research, teaching, and treating chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.
Dr. Marks is a diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine(pain management) and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology(psychiatry).
