Craig “CJ” Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in Health and Sports Medicine from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem and attended the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest where he earned his physician assistant certification. Craig earned his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska. He has been with EmergeOrtho as part of the foot and ankle and sports medicine team with Dr. Albert Marr since 1996.
Craig has a special interest in sports medicine having been an assistant coach at the Wake Forest University Men’s Soccer Program and has been an advocate and leader in youth soccer development across the Wilmington region. He has held and continues to be involved in the development of youth soccer programs at the recreational, high school and collegiate levels and working with the Wilmington Hammerheads Youth FC Soccer Program one of the largest youth soccer development programs in the state.
Craig has extensive experience in the treatment of foot and ankle and sports related injuries for patients of all ages. As part of the EmergeOrtho team with Dr. Albert Marr, Craig specializes in following patients before and after foot and ankle and sports medicine surgery as well as helping those with sports medicine injuries both on and off the field.
