As part of the EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Interventional Pain Management teams, Dr. Carl L. Smith specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal conditions and disorders. His extensive training and background in both physical medicine and rehabilitation allow Dr. Smith to offer a variety of services and treatments.
As part of his commitment to patient-centered care, Dr. Smith focuses on personalized treatment of pain to improve his patients’ quality of life.
Education and Expertise
Dr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and he completed residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dr. Smith is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is also board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Addiction Medicine.
He is a member of several professional organizations, which include the American Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Smith has been in practice since 1992.
