Brenda Culbertson grew up in a military family that allowed her to live in various states in the country and spend several years in Germany. She still has a love for traveling and exploring new cultures. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and immediately went on to receive a master’s in physical therapy at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Brenda has over twenty-seven years of experience as a physical therapist.

Brenda joined the team at Emerge Ortho initially in 2014. She served the patients in the Smithfield, Clayton, and Dunn offices as Team Lead until December of 2022, when she moved across the state. She has now returned to the Emerge Ortho family and will be serving as Team Lead in the Duraleigh office.

Brenda holds various certifications including a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Functional Dry Needling, and Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) certification. Her work experience also includes treating athletes from amateur to collegiate level. She recently served briefly as the on-site physical therapist with the athletes at UNC Charlotte before moving to the Raleigh area.

Brenda has a passion to serve others and assist with their healthcare to promote a healthy lifestyle. One of her unique skills is being fluent in American Sign Language.
