Ashley Ferguson is a physical therapist assistant who joined our EmergeOrtho Triad Region team in 2021. She brings a unique perspective to our team of clinicians with a background in teaching. Prior to her career change into the physical therapy profession, Ashley had a decade of teaching experience. Her teaching career was dedicated to the physical education of elementary and special needs students.
Deciding to refocus her career, Ashley completed the physical therapist assistant program at Guilford Technical Community College earning an Associate of Applied Science degree. Ashley brings her teaching creativity when tailoring her patients’ rehabilitation plans to their specific needs. She strives to empower her patients in their recovery with education about their orthopedic injury or condition. “Seeing patients’ progress through their recovery and realizing their goals is what gets me up in the morning” says Ashley.
Ashley is understanding and a good listener. She has an encouraging personality. Ashley chose the physical therapy profession as she believes “movement is medicine.” She is energized by patient interaction and connects with each person in their journey of recovery.
