Meet Dr. Angelo C. Cammarata

Dr. Angelo Cammarata graduated magna cum laude from Allegheny College in Meadville, P.A. where he was Phi Beta Kappa and a member of the Lambda Sigma Honor Society. Afterward, he earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA and completed his surgical internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He also gained extensive expertise during his upper extremity fellowship at The Hand Center of Western New York, State University of New York at Buffalo.

Dr. Cammarata was named one of America‘s Top Surgeons in the 2004 – 2017 edition of the Consensus Research Council of America and honored in 2009 as one of the top doctors in NC by Business North Carolina Magazine. In addition to his extensive medical expertise, Dr. Cammarata has earned multiple military and civilian honors including the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (twice awarded), a Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Cammarata is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the North Carolina Orthopedic Association, and the North Carolina and Western NC medical societies.

He specializes in microvascular surgery, treatment of the hands and wrist surgery, and shoulder and elbow surgery.
