Our orthopedic surgeons are engaged in advancing the field. Three of our physicians treating patients in the Greater Triangle Area worked on a recent publication in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery on AC joint injuries.
Drs. Joseph Wilson, Mack Aldridge, and Marshall Kuremsky are three of the authors of interobserver and intraobserver reliability of radiographic classification of acromioclavicular joint dislocations. They identified 200 patients with AC joint injuries using the International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision code 831.04. Fifty patients met inclusion criteria.
This study explores current methods for diagnosing and treating injuries of the acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocations. These injuries often occur when patients fall directly onto their shoulder. Read more about the study at the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
