“Wait, did someone say ‘ortho urgent care?’” We sure did! Not everyone knows the value and availability of expert, convenient orthopedic urgent care. In fact, some people may not even know there was such a concept as ortho urgent care. Thankfully, not only does orthopedic urgent care exist, it addresses a range of issues from sprains, fractures, and joint problems to musculoskeletal conditions, and more!
At EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region, we know that while issues like sore throats and fevers certainly need urgent care, so do orthopedic injuries, pain, and other unexpected problems. That is why we offer our North Carolina patients 16 locations from which to choose to address a variety of orthopedic-related problems without an expensive and time-consuming visit to the emergency room.
Triangle Region Orthopedic Urgent Care When you Need it Most
Sprains, strains, broken bones, and other orthopedic injuries do not always accommodate your calendar or honor the business hours of medical providers. No one understands this better than the world-class orthopedic specialists at EmergeOrtho.
To make sure our North Carolina residents have access to renowned, subspecialty orthopedic care with as flexible options as possible, our Triangle Region Ortho Urgent Care centers offer walk-in appointments. This means no appointments are necessary and new patients are welcome! Or, if you prefer, you can reserve a spot for urgent care before you even leave home, so you spend less time waiting.
You may be wondering what type of conditions and injuries can be addressed at our Orthopedic Urgent Cares. Below are nine areas EmergeOrtho urgent care can treat at the 15 ortho urgent care locations:
- Sprains. When a ligament experiences overstretching or a tear, it is referred to as a sprain. Sprains commonly occur to the ankles, knees, and wrists. Symptoms include pain, swelling, bruising, and restricted movement.
- Strains. A strain refers to an injury of the muscle or tendon. In particular, athletes often experience strains in the hamstring, foot, leg, and back. Symptoms include pain, inflammation, muscle spasms, muscle weakness, and cramping.
- Broken Bones. While there are several types of broken bones, also referred to as fractures, we only address closed fractures at our Urgent Care locations. A closed fracture (versus an open fracture) occurs when the bone remains under the skin and has not broken the skin.
- Sports-Related Injuries. Although sports-related injuries can happen anywhere on the body and include everything from ligament tears and tendon ruptures to joint pain and general discomfort, our orthopedic urgent care Sports Medicine physicians are equipped to help treat a comprehensive list of sports-related injuries affecting the neck, shoulder, arm, elbow, hand, wrist, hip, knee, leg, foot, and ankle.
- Joint Problems. As one of the most common causes of joint problems, osteoarthritis often produces pain, swelling, and other uncomfortable symptoms. When joint discomfort becomes problematic to the point where you cannot perform daily tasks or have difficulty moving, our EmergeOrtho Urgent Care specialists can help provide relief.
- Cuts, Lacerations, and Wounds. They can happen during work, a sporting event, or even in your own backyard. When a mishap requires stitching, patching, or repair, our orthopedic Urgent Care centers are equipped to handle most cuts, lacerations, and wounds.
- Cast or Dressing Problems. Our Urgent Care specialists can address a wound bandage that has come loose or requires replacing, a cast that has been compromised, or other problems associated with casts and dressings.
- Job or Work-Related Injuries
If you experienced an orthopedic injury on the job (or at work), visit an orthopedic urgent care near you. - Motor Vehicle Accidents
Motor vehicle accidents unless symptoms include head injury/trauma, headache, or loss of consciousness.
Although there is a long list of solutions we can provide at our orthopedic urgent cares, there are some conditions that are better served in a hospital emergency room.
We do NOT handle any of the following medical emergencies:
- Non-orthopedic medical problems or injuries
- Open fractures (in which bone is protruding from skin)
- Head or facial trauma including concussions
- Partial or full amputations
- Chest injuries
If you have experienced any of the situations above, please go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
