EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region Welcomes John Taliaferro, MD
WILSON, NC.—EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region welcomes Dr. John Taliaferro to the joint replacement surgery team, with subspecialties in hip & knee replacements, including the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries including rotator cuff and labral repairs, AC joint injuries, ACL/knee ligamentous injuries, and meniscal tears. Dr. Taliaferro joined us on September 1, 2021 at our Wilson location.
Dr. Taliaferro is from Georgia and is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. From there, Dr. Taliaferro completed a five-year residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, including training at Nemours Children’s Hospital and Mayo Clinic-Florida.
Dr. Taliaferro was awarded two separate fellowships, including an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the University of Virginia, as well as an Arthroscopic and Sports Medicine fellowship at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia.

In addition to being an accomplished orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Taliaferro is an active participant in orthopaedic research, and has written multiple publications and book chapters in Journal of Arthroplasty and Journal of Arthroscopic Techniques
