Dr. Peter Mangone served as faculty in the Foot and Ankle section of Orthopaedic Summit 2014. Dr. Mangonepresented his pioneering technique in the treatment of chronic ankle instability for patients with recurrent ankle sprains. His technique, the Arthro-Broström, was reviewed and debated compared to current open treatment methods. Results of over 70 patients with an average of 28-month follow-up were reviewed, revealing results equal to published results using the open technique. Dr. Peter Mangone and Dr. Jorge Acevedo are the inventors of theArthro-Broström technique, which is a novel and minimally invasive arthroscopic technique to perform lateral ligament reconstruction.
Dr. Peter Mangone is a Board-certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in orthopedic foot and ankle. He has been in private practice for the last 15 years in Asheville and Hendersonville, North Carolina, with EmergeOrtho: Blue Ridge Region. He has served as faculty on a number of courses for novel and advanced minimally invasive and arthroscopic ankle and foot procedures.
