On August 1, 2016, four of North Carolina’s leading orthopedic practices came together to form EmergeOrtho, creating a physician-led organization committed to world-class orthopedic and spine care while keeping patients at the center of every decision. The addition of a fifth respected practice soon expanded EmergeOrtho’s statewide reach and expertise.
Together, Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, OrthoWilmington, Greensboro Orthopaedics, Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists, and Blue Ridge Bone & Joint united under one name, combining decades of experience and a shared commitment to exceptional patient care. Today, EmergeOrtho is one of the largest physician-owned orthopedic practices in the Southeast, serving communities across the Carolinas through more than 65 locations and a team of more than 370 physicians, specialists, advanced practice providers, and clinical experts.

Our integrated electronic health record platform allows physicians and care teams across our network to remain connected, creating a seamless experience for patients regardless of where they receive care. Our growing network of Orthopedic Urgent Care Clinics has provided patients with an alternative to crowded emergency departments for orthopedic injuries and conditions. Available during evenings and weekends, these centers offer specialized orthopedic evaluation and treatment for fractures, sprains, strains, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
For thousands of patients, this means faster access to orthopedic specialists, greater convenience, and significantly lower costs compared to a traditional emergency room visit.
It’s one of many ways EmergeOrtho has worked to improve the patient experience while helping reduce costs across the healthcare system.

Technology is making orthopedic care more convenient, connected, and personalized. Patients can schedule appointments online, connect with their care team through website chat or two-way text messaging, complete digital registration before their visit, and take advantage of telehealth for select appointments.
