The EmergeOrtho Seagate location at 6019 Oleander Drive, Suite 200 is extremely convenient for those who live and work in one of the busiest corridors of New Hanover County. The Seagate area of Wilmington is just around the corner from Bradley Creek and Greenville Loop Road, with very easy access from Landfall Center, Mayfaire, Wrightsville Beach and the University of North Carolina Wilmington campus.
Approaching from the west, this location is less than three miles from the major intersection of South College Road and Oleander Drive, just one block east of the Arboretum Business Center and directly across the street from the Seagate Fire Station. To access the parking lot, patients and visitors turn onto Bagley Avenue, adjacent to the east side of the building. EmergeOrtho’s offices are on the second floor of the building, accessible by wide stairs or a convenient elevator.
This full-service, state-of-the-art facility was designed specifically with the needs of orthopedic patients in mind, with all of the necessary resources for care at hand. The building has an onsite radiology center so patients do not have to leave the building when x-rays are needed to diagnose an injury or assess the progress of recovery. Patients may use our self-schedule feature to obtain an appointment at this location with our providers and/or Reserve Your Urgent Care Spot in our orthopedic urgent care.
Exam rooms here are larger than many you see in physician offices, allowing for ease of movement so the provider can evaluate gait, range of motion, and gain other insight into athletic injury and recovery. The waiting rooms are bright and comfortable, with sports-centric reading materials and large screen televisions often playing live sports programs.
The entire facility, in fact, has been designed for ease of accessibility, accommodating patients whose mobility is limited by the use of crutches, walking casts, canes, walkers or wheelchairs.
The Seagate EmergeOrtho office is led by Dr. Dale W. Boyd, Jr., a board-certified, fellowship-trained specialist in sports medicine, with additional expertise in hip and knee, hand and upper extremity, shoulder and joint replacement. Pediatric sports medicine specialist Dr. Rebecca Demorest sees patients at the Seagate EmergeOrtho office with expertise in non-surgical sports injuries including concussion management. Joining Dr. Boyd and Dr. Demorest is Dr. Scott Dart who is a fellowship trained sports medicine and hip preservation specialist. Dr. Dart treats the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.
Our staff is fully dedicated to making your visit as pleasant as possible, and we always meet and exceed CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines for patient safety at all EmergeOrtho locations.
