Advanced MRI in Lenoir

EmergeOrtho physicians are orthopedic specialists who rely on advanced imaging and other diagnostic tools to make accurate and timely diagnoses for patients. MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is particularly useful for imaging the musculoskeletal system.

We are thrilled to be able to offer patients the latest MRI technology at our Lenoir location. The Fuji Echelon Synergy MRI enhances our diagnostic capabilities and improves patient outcomes because of several advanced features, including:

  • High-resolution images for better diagnosing
  • Advanced software integration
  • Motion compensation to minimize issues associated with patient movement during the scan
  • Multichannel RF coil technology that adjusts to each patient for optimal imaging
  • An antibacterial coating to reduce infection risks
  • A wider opening that helps patients feel less claustrophobic
  • Less noise during the test
  • Shorter scan times that reduce the amount of time patients are in the tube

How To Prepare for Your MRI Scan

MRI is noninvasive and painless and does not expose patients to radiation. You do not have to do much to prepare for the scan. You can eat and drink and take medications as usual. You will be directed to remove any metal objects from your body for safety reasons. Be sure to notify your doctor of any metal you may have inside your body.

When you arrive for your appointment, a trained MRI technician will walk you through the procedure. The tech will position you on a padded table that slides into the scanner. You can breathe normally and even nap while in the scanner, but you must try to remain as still as possible. Let the technician know if you are claustrophobic so we can make the experience more comfortable for you.
